Stop by the Ohio City Bicycle Co-Op on Wednesday August 29th at 8pm for some refreshments, and learn about Bicycles Against Poverty in a presentation by the group's founder, Muyambi Muyambi.

Beginning in August, Muyambi Muyambi began biking across the United States in order to raise money and spread the word about Bicycles Against Poverty, a Ugandan based organization he founded while in college. He will be in Cleveland for one night, before heading to Pittsburgh.

Bicycles Against Poverty (BAP) works with communities in East Africa to provide their members an opportunity to have affordable bicycles. BAP, currently based in Uganda, distributes bicycles to individuals at a subsidized cost that is paid in small monthly installments. The bikes are used to provide access to critical social services-- such as healthcare, education, and clean water-- as well as trade at markets.

You can learn more about BAP through the website and video: . You can find out more on Muyambi's trip across the country at
