Volunteer Orientation

We require an in-person orientation session to make sure everyone understands the basic of how the co-op works before they begin volunteering here. If you'd just like to learn about the co-op first in a more informal way, you can join our Saturday Social Ride; or stop in during retail hours (but we're often very busy with customers then).

Volunteer orientations last two hours, and are held the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month from 7-9pm. No appointment is needed, just drop in. You'll join a group of new volunteers (usually 5 - 10 folks) to meet with a co-op staff or key volunteer and take a tour to learn your way around. We'll also discuss programs OCBC offers, opportunities for volunteers to further their bike education, and ways volunteers can help at OCBC.

To get oriented for your orientation, please take a look at the Volunteering page, and take this short bike safety quiz.  You also may want to look at the shop manual on our wiki, which describes many of the things volunteers do.

Finally, you can read our non-discrimination policy here

We look forward to seeing you some Wednesday evening -- whatever your choice of drivetrain!
